As the days go by, one cannot help but notice that American politics looks more and more like a cheap circus act.
With the Biden regime on the ropes economically and politically, there is now talk about him having to step down as president. Even the corporate media is adding to the speculative frenzy about Biden’s political prospects.
Bill Kristol, neoconservative extraordinaire, went on Twitter on July 25, 2022 to suggest that R&B pop star John Legend replace Biden as the presidential nominee in 2024. He called the multi-platinum selling pop star “our version of [Ukraine President Volodymyr] Zelensky.”
“I’ve been saying for a while that we need as our next president our version of the admirable Volodymyr Zelensky,” Kristol tweeted. “Today I got another ‘personal message’ — i.e., mass e-mail — from @johnlegend on behalf of Democrats.”
“Which leads me to ask: When Biden steps aside — John Legend in 2024?” Kristol added.
Kristol was ruthlessly mocked on Twitter, as he should have been.
Let’s face it, leftist pop stars like John Legend have no business being in higher office, much less leading the most powerful country in human history.
This goes to show that there’s a major vacuum in political leadership in Washington, D.C. So much so that people have to turn to celebrity figures, who have no meaningful knowledge about politics or experience running major institutions, for political tutelage.
This is a bad sign for America’s political health.
As for Kristol, the guy is a neocon hack who is one of the pillars of the dysfunctional neocon/neoliberal cabal that is firmly in power in DC.
Like a seasoned universalist, Kristol is quick to draw analogies with foreign leaders that the US Deep State is propping up. The fact that Kristol is taken seriously as a political commentator is testament to how degraded our politics have become. The guy is an unhinged warhawk who pushes for mass migration and has zero sympathy for the plight of Middle Americans.
Let’s hope that Kristol’s twisted fantasy doesn’t manifest itself into a political reality in 2024.
The last thing America needs is a leftist celebrity figure to run this country. Having John Legend at the helm of the presidency would only accelerate America’s socio-political decline.
