Has the Supreme Court Leaker Finally Been Unmasked?

Who leaked the draft Supreme Court opinion that hinted at the inevitable repeal of Roe v. Wade?

That’s the million dollar question that has everyone up at night.

The leak, which took place on the night of May 2, 2022, is one of the most explosive moments of 2022 heading into the midterms.

Undoubtedly, political passions on both sides of the abortion issue are at all-time highs.

Regardless of where one stands on the abortion question, the leaking of such sensitive information from an institution that’s supposed to be depoliticized raises many doubts about the Court’s impartiality. Moreover, the leak of this decision has an aspect of blackmail to it, with this information being used by politicians and outside pressure groups to potentially coerce the court into changing its mind on the issue or even shelving the issue altogether.

A bad precedent would be set in either circumstance, thus allowing similar incidents to take place to sway judicial decisions that should otherwise be impartial.

Anyways, who could this leaker be?

Will Chamberlain, the senior counsel at the Internet Accountability Project, believes that the leaker could be Elizabeth Deutsch, a law clerk for Justice Stephen Breyer.

He dropped a major Twitter thread , where he makes his case for Deutsch being the leaker.

Check it out below:

Again, it’s anyone’s guess who the leaker is. Chamberlain offers some compelling evidence that hints towards Deutsch being a suspect.

At the end of the day, it’s up to our elected officials and political class to get to the bottom of this. If America wants to maintain the rule of law and the impartiality of its political institutions, it needs to get to the bottom of this Supreme Court leak.

The institutional stability of the Republic is counting on this.

What do you think?
